Return Policy


RETURNS

If you need to return a product, don't hesitate to contact us at support@americanelectric. To process your return, we will need the following information from you:

  • Your Full Name & Telephone Number
  • The Online Order Number
  • The Item Ordered (Manufacturer + Model Number)
  • A Brief Description of the Problem

NOTE:

You have 30 days to return an item after buying it. If you want to return the item, you must send tracking information by the 30th day (11:59 PM/PST).

If you don't send the information, we won't take the product back. We also don't refund shipping charges on returns.

Our 30-day policy is not negotiable. The merchandise must be new, uninstalled and in original packaging. The buyer needs to pay for the return shipping and there is a 30% restocking fee if the product isn't new or if it's been installed.

If the product has been used or opened, there may be service charges and/or we may not issue a refund.


You cannot return sale items, halogen/incandescent items, faceplates, recessed trims, recessed housing, assembled items, discontinued items, or special order parts.


DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

If you are not happy with a product, you need to return it within 10 days of the invoice date. We will test the product to see if it is defective. If it is, we will replace the item. If the product is working, we will not give you a credit.

If the product is defective and covered by a manufacturer's warranty, please go through the manufacturer for a replacement.


CANCELLATIONS

If you want to cancel an order for any reason, you need to do it by calling or emailing us. We will not cancel your order unless we get a confirmation from a customer service representative.

If the order has already been shipped and you refuse the package, it counts as returning the product. So, you will have to pay the standard restocking fees.


SHORTAGES OR DAMAGED SHIPMENT

We only accept claims for shortages, damages, and incorrectly-shipped items for 5 business days after receiving your package. We hope that you will check your package right when you get it.

Claims received after 5 business days from receipt of shipment will not be considered; there are no exceptions.


EXCHANGES

We do not accept returns. If you want to purchase another product, you can return the one you do not wish to, but a 30% restocking fee will be.
