The Lutron MA-R-BL Maestro Black Companion Dimmer cannot be used alone as a lighting tool. It must accompany another Maestro dimmer with a multi location feature. Up to nine of these Lutron MA-R-BL Maestro Black Companion Dimmers can be used with a single multi location dimmer, allowing you to simply control the lighting from one convenient place within your home.
